FTR Court Transcriber ("the Service") is operated by Inspired Networks ("we", "us", "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our court recording transcription service at trmscriber.com.
2. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from your Google account. This information is used solely for authentication and authorization purposes.
Usage Data
We log basic usage metrics including your email address, the filenames of uploaded recordings, transcription duration (in minutes), and the number of audio channels processed. This data is used for service administration and billing purposes.
Uploaded Files
You may upload .zip files containing HTML log sheets and .trm court recording files. These files are processed in server memory and temporary storage (/tmp) during transcription. Files are automatically deleted after processing is complete and are not retained.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To authenticate your identity and authorize access to the Service
- To process and transcribe uploaded court recordings
- To track usage for administration and billing
- To improve and maintain the Service
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate the Service:
- Google OAuth: For user authentication. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
- OpenAI Whisper API: Audio from active microphone channels is sent to OpenAI's Whisper API for speech-to-text transcription. Subject to OpenAI's Privacy Policy. OpenAI states that data submitted via their API is not used to train their models.
5. Data Retention
- Uploaded files: Deleted immediately after processing. Not stored permanently.
- Usage logs: Retained for administration and billing purposes.
- Account information: Retained as long as your organization has an active account.
6. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure server infrastructure, and access controls. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.
7. Access and Authorization
Access to the Service is restricted to authorized organizations. Your organization's email domain must be registered in our system by an administrator. We do not offer self-service registration.
8. Your Rights
You may request to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate personal data
- Delete your personal data
- Revoke Google OAuth access via your Google Account settings

1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using FTR Court Transcriber ("the Service") operated by Inspired Networks ("we", "us", "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
The Service provides AI-powered transcription of FTR (.trm) court audio recordings. Users upload courthouse zip files containing HTML log sheets and .trm recording files, and the Service returns searchable HTML transcripts combining clerk notes with AI-generated audio transcription.
3. Authorized Access
Access to the Service is restricted to users whose email domain has been authorized by an administrator. You must sign in with a Google account belonging to an authorized organization. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity under your account.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:
- Upload files you are not authorized to possess or process
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
- Use the Service to violate any applicable law or regulation
- Share your account access with unauthorized individuals
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
5. Transcription Accuracy
Transcriptions are generated by AI (OpenAI Whisper) and may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies. The Service is intended as a productivity tool to assist with court recording review. Transcriptions produced by this Service are not official court records and should not be relied upon as such. Users are responsible for verifying transcription accuracy against official court records.
6. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its software, design, and documentation, is the property of Inspired Networks and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You retain ownership of any files you upload and any transcripts generated from your files.
7. Confidentiality
We understand that court recordings may contain sensitive and confidential information. Uploaded files are processed in server memory and temporary storage only, and are deleted immediately after processing. We do not retain, review, or share the content of your uploaded files or generated transcripts.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Inspired Networks shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or data, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service. The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.
9. Service Availability
We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation of the Service. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time without notice. We may also revoke access for any user or organization at our discretion.
10. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of British Columbia, Canada, without regard to conflict of law principles.
